Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
01
Where are your products made?
All of our pieces are handcrafted in Leicestershire using responsibly sourced British hardwoods. Every item is individually made with care, character, and attention to detail.
02
What woods do you use?
We work mainly with English oak, ash, walnut, beech and yew, though we may use other British hardwoods depending on availability and commissions. Each piece is unique due to the natural grain, knots, and colours in the wood.
03
Do you take bespoke or custom orders?
Yes! We create bespoke items ranging from house signs to custom-sized console tables and coffee tables. If you have an idea or specific dimensions, please email info@treeputty.com to discuss your project.
04
Do natural imperfections count as faults?
No. Natural features such as knots, grain variations, splits, colour changes, or live edge shapes are part of the wood’s character and are celebrated in our designs. We only use responsibly sourced British hardwood, so each piece is truly one-of-a-kind.
05
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes — free delivery for orders over £200 is available within Leicestershire.
For UK-wide delivery, please contact info@treeputty.com for a quote.
06
What is your returns policy?
Standard (non-bespoke) items can be returned within 14 days as long as they are unused and in original condition.
Bespoke or personalised pieces are non-refundable unless damaged or faulty on arrival.
You can view our full Returns & Refunds Policy on our website.
07
How do I care for my hardwood piece?
We recommend:
- Keeping away from direct heat sources (radiators, stoves)
- Avoiding prolonged exposure to sunlight
- Wiping with a damp cloth
- Using natural food safe wood oils if appropriate
- Do not put in the dish washer
If you need specific care advice for your piece, just ask — we’re happy to help.
08
What finish do you use on your products?
We typically use high-quality food safe natural oils and waxes to enhance the grain while offering protection. Finishes may vary depending on the wood type and product.elp.
09
Can I see the exact piece before I buy?
Yes — all product photos on the website show the actual item you will receive, unless otherwise stated. For bespoke work, we can send progress photos before delivery.
10
How long do bespoke orders take?
Lead times vary depending on the project size and wood availability. Most commissions take 2–6 weeks, but we’ll confirm an estimated timeframe before starting.
